Mathematics Department of MES Asmabi College initiated PRINCIPIA, mathematics club, which aim to promote mathematics in campus. It will be a platform for students to observe the important dates of mathematical world and to realise that mathematics permeates the world around us.
Vision and Objective
To make mathematics more friendly among the students and to appreciate the usefulness, the power and beauty of mathematics.
PRINCIPIA started functioning this year after the Inauguration on 08.08.2018. Dr. Anoop. N. Nair (Assistant Professor of Mathematics, College of Engineering& Management , Punnapra) inaugurated the club.
After inaugural session a talk was done by Dr. Anoop.N.Nair on the topic entitled ‘Mathematical modelling of real life problems’. Club members conducted various programs including Quiz competition and mathematical games.

Weekly Students Paper Presentation Program
As a part of club activity, successfully started ‘Students weekly paper presentation programme’ which will be a platform for students from any discipline to present a paper which is related to mathematics. This program was inaugurated by Smt. Shailaja. V (HOD, Department of Mathematics). First presentation was done by Sreerag S. Kumar (II BSc Physics), the topic entitled ‘ Time on Torus’ on 08. 11.2018 and Sahad .N.M (II BSc Mathematics) presented the Paper entitled ‘ Golden Ratio’.
